I answered a memebers "Parting out S13" ad in the for sale forum with a list of parts I needed for my own S13. He was fairly prompt to reply telling me what he had and what he didn't, what was good and what wasn't and I agreed to purchase the parts of my list that he had. We agreed on $120 shipped for all the parts. I sent paypal as he requested on the 1st of July. It is now the 25th, my credit card bill has arrived, I've still got no parts, and the last email I sent asking where my stuff was didn't get a response. I had IM'd him a couple weeks ago asking if he had a tracking number and was informed that he had been busy with work and hadn't had a chance to even pull the parts, but now I can't even seem to catch him on AIM.

Whats the best way to deal with this? I don't want to pay my credit card bill since I haven't received any parts yet, but I don't think I have any recourse with Paypal as far as stopping the transfer of funds or getting my money back.

not funny at all, that's serious

I have a rating of 700 + powerseller status on ebay, people trust me by my reputation

that's why sometimes I am not too happy to buy deals on message board because there is no reputation system to back them up.

I bet I pissed neejay (on this fourm) off when I filed a claim against him when he shipped one day late but hey, just trying to protect myself

There's also escrow.com, they don't get the money till you receive the items, but there's a retarded escrow fee you have to pay. Hence, it's best to use escrow for expensive stuff, like wheels or engines.

I don't recommend buynig engine or computer on ebay, because it's easily for something to fail and it woudl be hard to get a warranty on it... things get complicated, who p[ay for shipping, whose fault is it ultimately? ... etc

wheels are pretty heavy also, my 18s are 25lb a piece, with tires maybe even more? say... 40~50lb? it just cost too much and too risky to ship that, what if they dent the wheels during shipping? you know how ups do it. evey time I order something they throw that **** into my patio. even a ps2, I wonder why it didn't break though.

my friend who lives on 2nd floor of an apartment has a patio. As he went home he couldn't find the package, he called ups and turn out they throw it in his patio. The only way that the package got the patio woudl be either someone walk through the house and placed it there, or something threw it in there from the 1st floor. Needless to say, the latter is what the ups did, although kind of interesting, imagine what if it's something fragile?

True. I was just throwing that possible option out there. I'm leery enough of stuff on ebay and i don't trust people on message boards. Although the latter has made things easier to find and buy. Doing business in person for certain things, or getting stuff from a legitimate company (i.e. Tire Rack) is still the way to go.

actually, when it's a company you are dealing with, things get less personal, more people touching your oder, most people to **** things up. I've ordered 3 items from 3 seperate nico sponsor and oh boy they ****ed them up pretty bad.

statistics can't lie, that's why ebay's reputation system seem to work compared to words of the mouth on message boards.

with a rating of 700+ and powerseller status, I have no trouble selling anything on ebay.

One guy tried to screw me over on nico about a yr ago.. i commented on it and he sent the part a few days later. Another offered to sell me some s14 agx's for $275(brand new). I said send them cod. He never sent them (i'm not out any money) Would of been a good deal though. And then theres rn240na. I bought it on ebay ...paypal didn't do a thing (until he does it 3 different times) He packed the item poorly, it was returned and no refund was given. The shipping fee was returned to him by the shipper. A moderator i know of got burned 3 times this yr. Lesson....ask for it to be sent cod ($7.00 fee)

I've sent yet another e-mail to him, and if I don't get a reply to this one I'll post up the members name just so everyone else knows not to deal with him.

I finally received one email on the 27th saying that his computer had been down and he had been unable to retrieve my address because of this, but now he was online and would send them ASAP. Today is the 8th and I haven't heard anything from him and still nothing has arrived. So now it has been 5 weeks since he received payment and not shipped anything. He has been posting on an almost daily basis, and the last email said the parts were removed and ready to be shipped.

I hate bringing stuff like this into a public forum, but obviously patience and being polite don't work. Giving noticed via email that I'm upset and want either my parts or a refund doesn't work, and now I'm out my $120 and I still don't have the parts I need to get my car together which is causing me a delay in getting my car painted.

So maybe this will get Mr. McKnight's (240Knightrider) attention since nothing else seems to. I think that 5 weeks is plenty of time to get some parts off of a wrecked car and ship them to me. You have time to post on the forum, and obviously time to find pictures of things to post here, but you've had my money for over 5 weeks and all I have from you are emails and excuses. When you wrecked your car you posted here and many people felt bad for you. You decided to part it out so I figured I'd buy stuff from you since you had what seemed to be a good reputation here and I knew that you could probably use some money to get a replacement car. But now I'm out my money, still no parts from you after 5 weeks, and I've even seen you post on this forum that you are somehow involved with law enforcement yet I'm still getting screwed.

I think that it might not be such a bad idea if NICO had a B/S/T feedback forum so that we can review a seller before we make deals with them. I know a few other forums that do this and it seems to work well.

whether you believe this or not but this is what happened. When you bought the power steering lines it was 2 weeks before i ended up getting laid off from the body shop i was working at without any warning at all. Since you read my earlier forums you would know i was trying to fix it. Well I still owe the 300. When I went to go get my paycheck my boss said it was in the mail and that I could get the car when I paid for the work that was done. So was like cool ill pay with my paycheck and whatever the difference (paycheck $200). After 2 weeks of not getting a paycheck, i called and he told me "no your not getting your paycheck or your car until you pay me for the work done). So now i was screwed, cant get the parts out of the car and I cant get my money. I never gave you an excuse i just told you what I knew and what I believed would happen. My boss' excuse for firing me was because he closed the other shop and was bringing the people over there to take my place. So it sucked I had rent do and I just bought the white car so I owed on tags and registration, which im screewed if I get pulled over since I dont have the money to pay for it. I finally found a job after 4 weeks of NO work, I work at ROSS Paint and Collision if you want to look in the phone book to see if im lying or not. ive been there for 2 weeks, i just got my first paycheck and im working as many hours as I can to pay you back. I still have the part, sitting in the car but he wont let my take anything out until I pay him the money. Like i said im trying to pay you back and everything else I have to pay. But not being rude, I dont go around posting your last name and I would appreciate it if you didnt post mine.

And i told you the reason my computer was down was because of the damn hurricane that came through that knocked out the power for 2 days and the internet for 5.

dude im not trying to screw you over or take your money. I have written you back as for why you didnt get them I dont know. I would not have sold them if I knew this was going to happen.

It is now October 15th, I have not heard a WORD from Knight in months, there have been no attempts to pay me back, and I believe hes even told someone that he still had the parts.

I figured with all the scam related posts, I'd revive mine for everyone to see.
