I have a couple of questions....

I got a JDM 1.6 engine for my sentra and from a import company and it seems like the engine is misfiring on #1 Cy i did a compression check and it's leaking down very slowly. The car is not smoking. Someone told me it may be the piston rings on that cy. I contacted the Company and they stated it may be build up on the valves if the Eng sat for a while.

I was told to iddle it for a hour and see if changed... no changes.

Now he wants me to drive it for a little while... runs a little rough but runs.

I need to find out what would make the engive have pressure at the oil filler cap. I went to pour oil while it was running and it blew it all out as I started pouring. What causes this?

Please help.

Also he mentioned to drain half of my motor oil and pour some Auto transmission fluid and run it for a while. That it should help clean up what ever build up...ever hear of that? could sea foam help?

I can't help much with the piston rings as I just bought my 1.6 a month ago or so. However the transmission fluid trick has been around for ever. I learned it from my grand father and it works great for cleaning out the crap. Just remember to clean the oil sump when your done or all the gunk can just get tossed right back where it was. Worse yet it can clog up and burn out your oil pump.
