My car has been having acceleration problems lately. Mostly on inclines. Down hills, it seems to run better than normal. But today I was on a fairly high uphill and it died on me. 5 seconds later it started up like normal, that's the second uphill it stalled on. Anyway, my fuel has been being consumed at a higher rate than normal. I put on a new fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs and wires about a year ago. Can this problem be the MAF sensor? Also it seems like I have to give it more gas to get going than I ever did before.

I experienced a similar problem. I was getting terrible gas mileage, maybe 20mpg at best. The car was bogged down, and ocassionally died. I replaced my alternator and battery (Optima Yellow Top), and it didn't die again, but it still felt like there was a loss in power, and the gas mileage was still terrible. Ordered a MAFS on eBay for $23 shipped, put that sucker on, and the difference was quite impressive. The car feels much smoother and the gas mileage is extremely better. I think I'd replace your MAFS if I were you. It's not too much of an investment!

I think that's what Im gonna do. I unplugged it and it was still running. So I cleaned the connector and put it back on and it's been fine. But I think I should replace it anyway.
