I received an engine a few months back, it is rebuilt and unused since the rebuild, but sitting in South Carolina in a covered area, but not sealed off from the outside (more like car port area not garage). It is still on the palette and shrink wrapped, and my father tied it down pretty good using 2 tarps.

My question is should I be worried about corrosion, assuming there is no oil covering the internals? And if there is a high possibility of corrosion, did i just screw myself out of a nice rebuilt engine?

It will be close to 6 months before I can get to my parents house and begin the swap.

As long as the throttle body was blocked off or covered up, I think you should be ok. Everything else should already be sealed off, ie. oil fill cap, spark plugs, etc etc...
