I needed 6 when I dropped the pan and changed the strainer, not actually a filter.

Fyi, 5 was perfect for a drain & fill for my Rogue for those who just need that.

I never did the little filter inside the beehive, too lazy.

So 7 quarts on hand to be safe is my non-expert opinion.
