Driving to work one day and all of a sudden, blaaaaaahhhhh. 50%-75% drop in power. Feels like running on two cyl. After work I tried to start it and nothing. Dead battery. Hooked up some jumpers and almost killed the other car. Might be a short but everything looks good. I don't have any clue what could be wrong with it. I thought it might be a bad battery but no start with a bran new battery. with new battery it spins with a lil cough the first mil sec but then nothing. I read the codes and i'm getting a ;(13)cyl head temperature sensor shorted or open,(23)Throttle valve switch circuit, and (33) Exhaust gas sensor. ???? I don't really see how any of these could keep it from starting. If I erase all the codes then it will start and run ruff for like 3 sec and die.

Any one think they can help?? I really need help.

p.s. the car has always eaten batteries for some reason. about one a year??? The bat in it at the time it last ran was a bran new yellow top optima. Now the "indestructible" optima has a shorted cell with about 6 months of use.

the chts and the ego both cause a rich condition, combined they could be flooding the engine

why did you hook up jumpers? was the engien not trnign on it's own?

have you looked at the plugs? they might be visibly fuel fouled

I hooked up jumper cause the batt was dead. I have not checked the plugs but it smells like gas real bad so ur prob right. I'll check um and let ya know.
