As you know it stock the 25 head is hyd and the 26 head is solid. Just wondering if any on has put stock 26 cams in a 25. Talk about fun. These things sound mean at idle and has mad top end. In a 26 they are small but in a 25 being that the lifters are hyd, they tend to throw the valve open much more then in a 26. Just thought I trow that out there. Today I began to port and polish my 25 head and being that RBs are 26 valve 6cyl is a time consuming job. I am also polishing the bowls. I will be keeping the squish points for high compression. Since I am using a Tomei 1.2mm head gasket I am having a local machine shop shave the head down 0.2mm when I am done. What a tyipcal head looks like before. What I use to clean it.(works really good)After I cleand itStarted to smooth out the bowlspolishing the bowl

cam gears and a vacum pump cos it really does not make good vacum for the brakes at low and idle. I am running PFC so did some tunning also.

Yeah your gonna kill the VTC.

26 cams probably dont have an hook up for the VTC solenoid.

I don't know how the Solid cam is going to go with the Hydro lifters and such. The Solid cams are supposed to have a smoother ramp up than the Hydro's.

A guy up in WA had them in his 20 and the car idle'd funny and gained power in the middle but up top was Blah.

Search you'll find his thread.Plus it didn't idle right either.

I had mad top end and mid with mine. And yes the vvt goes bye bye. It idle like it was a mean sun of biatch. I adjusted the cams in more and the more it loped(it sounded cool). Its because of the valve over lap. This was before cams[IMG][http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s184 ... o1.jpg/IMG]I can not find the dyno sheet with the cams installed but the you can tell the defferance and feel it.

For all the $$ and trouble why would you go putting 26 cams in your motor???

Unless you just happened to have a set.

I would just drop a couple bucks on aftermarket cams designed to work with the RB25. Plus you'll get to keep your VTC/VVT.

You'll have a better idle and make more power tool.

I'm with Sil240 on this one. Too much effort and money for equal or lesser gains than aftermarket cams and vvt.
