ok, i bought an mb quart DVC 10" a while back, and I want to put it into a ported box. I know that if it's done wrong, you can blow it up easily, so I want to get everything right. Can someone tell me everything i need to think of? Thanks. oh, one more thing, i saw them using a program to determine size and airspace for subs at the local car audio shop. annyone know the name of this program?

what you gotta do first is build the box, that you want, but keep it sealed... then take it to a local car audio shop and find out which frequency hits the highest SPL, that frequency is your resonant frequency... then once you know this number then you can go ahead and plug that number in to calculate the size of the port you will need...

All you do to figure out the cu ft of your box is L x W x H then divide by 1728 and youve got your cu ft.

Second, arent mb quarts for SQ? Then sealed would be best...

Generally the Sub's come with a spec sheet, giving you the reccomended box type and size, Id you did not recieve the spec sheet, email MB Quart and check with them on the rec'd box type and size, generally it varies depending on how much power your running and which type of music you listen to most, meaning which frequency you would like your sub to play at.

Once you figure out the size, of the box, with or w/out port, draw you up a design, and use the volume formula, LxWxH, then divide by 1728 as Woodmister said, and you can make the right box,

Plus also check with what Woodmister said about the ported box and MB's being for SQ.
