While slappin some new binders and rotors on the front of the Qbomb this week I became aware of an alarming anomaly which will in fact require some form of rehab both for myself and the car.

While doing the 9 and 3 o'clock aggressive wheel fondle an egregious amount of sloppage was evident. "Egad", said I. I attempted to determine the location the slop and as near as I can tell the outboard transverse....."ball joint"???? has s*** the bed. The FSM ain't too clear on this gizmo so the nomenclature is mine. Page FA 21 shows references a ball joint. It is were the link bolts onto the bottom of the strut assembly.

(The new brakes are s*** hot by the way. The old rotors looked ok, but the beast had a case of copious shakes during spirited stopping. Sucked it did. Now its as smooooth as the upper inner thigh of a young.....oh never mind. You get the idea.)

Back to the 'spension...and some queries for the masses. And ObiWanQnobie, if he's still here and would care to opine.

Questions:

1. Does I gots to replace the whole transverse link or will a new BJ suffice?

A. Yeps the whole mother has to go. $238.00 plus shipping from IOS. They are the cheapest place I can find so far. It is only sold as an assembly

2. If I gots to replace the whole mother, can anyone comment or flame as to the difficulty of said job? Bear in mind that I am not in possession of a garage, fancy jack, special tools, my mental faculties, common sense or a flame thrower.
3. Can it simply be done with the car on the jack?
4. Does the new unit need to be pressed into the strut assy, or will simply tightening the bolt on the outboard section of the link snuggy it up?
5. How many beer job is this?
6. Did NASA really fake the lunar landing?

:)
