I'm curious if any one here has done this. My brother in law mentioned it to me the other day and I had no clue what it was. I searched google and got the gist of it and I was curious what kind of gains you could get out of it. I tried for searching for that as well and the most common result for me were honda forums claiming anywhere from 10hp-40hp (40 seemed a little high to me).

basically you make the inside thinner & polish is to make the flow smoother. from what i knw its not really much of a gain with an n/a car its mostly for turbo/supercharger cars.

This is an email from a PnP company called Form and Function that works on QR25's and a few other engines. Hope it solves the question.

Thanks for the interest Danny. I'm sure we can get you squared away with nothing less than the best portwork and ceramics for your QR project!

We have done quite a few QR25 intake manifolds in the last two years (and we have cores here too if needed) with great results. Most do see ~8-10whp even if mildly modded, and more if you are big power. That's the nice thing about the porting, as you increase overall power of the motor, it's gains are generally based on percentage, and will continue to shine as you push your motor further.

We have pricing on the portwork set at $250 for porting the upper and lower manifold, and if you wanted the two part ceramic coating (thermal dispersant on the outside, and a thermal block on the flange) that is a $90 option. If you did want to use one of our cores, we charge a fully refundable $250 core fee, that is refunded once we receive your manifold back to us in good working order.

Let me know what you think or if you have any questions and we will do our best for you. Thanks again for the support!

Well then I was just curious on how do you port and polish an intake manifold like ours when its made out of a carbon composite material. :dblthumb: The honda fools in there Hunda betec engines have an aluminum manifold so that is why they can do it. we can do our cylinder heads but not the intake manifold i dont know how that company did it. I know the older model qr25de engines have an aluminum manifold. You should def. check back with bob on that.
