Any suggestions or experience with a setup like this??
:bigthumb:

94 Q45 stock height - may lower 1.5 in future
Ive seen the wheels alone for upwards of $1200-1800 &
I just happened to find and purchase a clean set with rubber for $300

I would like to run these Porsche wheels:
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... p?t=146032

18x7.5 ET 50 BBS (effective offset +30) Front with 225/45 R18 Michelins (or 235/50 if they will fit)
18x9 ET 52 BBS (effective offset +32) Rear with 255/40 R18 Michelins

with front/rear TRAK+ Wheel Adapters (Hubcentric - 20mm spacing) from H&R :

I was going to mount these temporarily with the rubber they came with and double check clearances before I ruin a $1000 in new michelins. But I would like to get a few well informed opinions before I fork out any more cash for spacers as I could sell these for a profit. However I love how they look on the car and unless there is a major unforseen issue I will proceed.

Otherwise I would look for the correct bolt pattern and offset.
I have checked here:

Seems with the 20mm adapters they should be a good fit, may have to roll the fenders - which I was thinking of anyways.

I like them. I say go for it. Keep in mine those rims were made for a 3000lb car and not a 4000lb car. May have a negative affect on ride quality.

I have a suggestion. I've seen many sets of g35/g37 coupe wheels on Craiglist that look a lot like what you are chasing after. I'd save a bunch of money and buy those. They bolt right up.

I've also seen too many DEAD q45's on CL with very expensive wheels. Save your cash to keep your car running.

good call on the maintenance first - had injectors cleaned, and alignment done all fluids changed.
Not after "Fancy" just good and safe handling.

I'm used to driving an S-Class Mercedes on 17" AMG Wheels & Michelin Pilot Sports.
Wheels/Tires and Brakes are the most important factor in handling and avoiding crashes and hydroplaning etc. Suspension a close 2nd.

Mostly i'm wondering about fitment or performance issues and if or not the 18's are too harsh in any way for the Q.

From a money standpoint, I'm in only $300 tires and wheels $700 total with spacers.
Haven't yet found another set of Infinity wheels WITH tires of similar quality (Michelin & BBS, Volk, etc.) and without curb rash for that price yet. Quality first.

I guess if you've been driving an S class, you've got the cash to keep the Q running. :) When I bought my Q45, I went with the 17" G35 wheels. I thought the 18" would be too harsh, but thats just me. Good luck. Post a picture when you're finished.
Regards,
David

I've owned six G50's in the last 9 years (plus 3 Q's just for parts) and have had 15", 16", 17" and 18" wheels on my Q's. My current drive has 18" G35 wheels with 235mm wide Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The ride is definately not as smooth as you move up in tire size but I like my eighteens and don't find them to be an offensively harsh ride at all. I've driven other Q's recently with 15" tires and it's like riding on a cloud compared to the 18's but I wouldn't go back.

Thank you so much. The comparison is what I needed. I am keeping the 15s for winter snow tires and I can always change later. Sounds like these will be great spring-fall tires in sunny Nor-Cal. (I get to revisit the cloud next winter.)
