I'm sure you probably saw a replica/kit car. I couldn't imagine making a 911 look like a 959, the 959 is just so elongated. Bill Gates owns one out of 4 959's in the country. I don't know if there are 4 or more in the country. But they're ultra rare.

I saw a Porsche 959 in the Bay Area some years ago - the owner is in upper management at Cadence Design (i.e., he can afford it, lucky guy!).

Apparently, a few people went through the painful process of putting it through the Federal testing requirement for emissions, etc.

I believe Sky is correct. I don't think there are any street legal 959's in the US. If you saw one on the street, it was probably a 911 with a body kit. Bear in mind 959's sell used for a $500K+, so I kinda doubt you're gonna see one around town. However you might run into one at a race track.

You may be right, but this guy who was driving it, is way capable of affording it and the cost of testing. So, I figured it was real. But, I am not really hundred percent sure, of course!

I saw one that I could swear was real around here once (northside of Atlanta--east cobb/roswell area to be exact). Ofcourse, it coulda been a body kit, but it looked damn authentic if it was.

That was like 3 or 4 years ago...and I've only seen it once. But it really wouldn't suprise me if it *was* real. I mean, this area is a wealthy area as well. After all, I am the one that posted a picture of a Vector M12 I saw a couple months ago :)

Well, all the rappers are from the southside and westside. Northside is a bunch of snobs who drive BMW's, Lexus's, Ferrari's, Porsche's, etc. Then there's me....who should be on welfare, but instead trapped in the middle of a bunch of wealthy people, begging for money.

Um...can't say I do. Actually, I don't even know what you are talking about. And as far as buckhead....I can only afford to go there once, maybe twice a year.

I agree!! The left side rear is much more smoothly blended in - no funny lines. It sure looks like the real McCoy.

Man, if you have a 911, and you feel you need to turn it into a kit car project and slap some fiberglass on it to make it look like a 959, you have issues. I noticed the car is RHD and the plate foreign.

The red car is obviously a body kit, but the car in question looks like the real deal. And like 1der said, it's kinda like spotting Bigfoot. Of course, he IS freakin' Bigfoot, ya damned Yeti...:D

Look at the main difference between the car domain pic, and this:

...look under the bumper...

haha.

Hueys is a beat-up place, probably the cheapest-looking building in buckhead. If you ever end up there, go.

It would be body-colored, to be a true replica body kit, or an original car.

Meaning, it should be visible, even in a shadow at mid-day, being that the paint scheme is a brilliant silver metallic.

It's absence makes me think it's a kit car.

nah, it's the same color, look real real close at the bottom outer edge of the bumper, it's darker, but it's the same color silver, just in the shade.

Tough call. Looks real, but, man the chances are slim.

Ok after more looks, I think that is the real deal. The lines are very smooth, well rounded, etc. Doesnt look like a body kit to me.

lets steal it. first we have to refind it and what if its not even a real 959, we'd be stealing just a 911.
