alright guys so im looking into por15 because ive heard so many awesome things about it. I want to do the entire floor pan/trunk and some susension/brake/steering pieces. and then undercoat the bottom with bedliner or undercoating. My question is how much do I need? its def not cheap so I dont want to overbuy. Their gallons are $144 or you can get a quart for 44. Will a quart be enough? Maybe 2? i really have no clue how far this stuff goes. then i also need the top coat and cleaner so im already at 120 with just one quart of each. chime in if you've used this stuff before. thanks

i helped my dad use it on his muscle car project,

usually with a brush a quart can take you a long way. i wouldnt go very heavy on the floors or trunk panels. s*** is pretty damn hard to get off.

one thing i learned, this stuff does not like sun/uv rays.

yea i was thinking about spraying it but with a brush it would go much further. and yea i read anything in sunlight needs to be covered in a top coat. do you think it would be neccesary to cover the suspension parts in a top coat? i mean uv rays get to them once in a while, but theyre never completely exposed to the sun

There is a guy on here from nj that has a build tread were he replaced evry single part on his car and he undercoated it with por15 (i think) and after a while it started rusting again. I dont remember his name but he was putting in a rb26.

i bought a quart before but here in saint louis a quart is almost $70 for POR15...i did the whole inside of my car floor, trunk area and s*** did the wheel wells and frame rails and had enough and still had about 1/4 of it left over...a gallon of it will be enough for all that you are doing...get some brushes and go at it the stuff goes a long way...oh and prep work is best a bit sanding if necessary bc it wont stick well on greasy and really smooth places...and wear rubber gloves, s*** takes forever to wash off

i really doubt it was POR15 i had that stuff on my car and never peeled off washed away chipped and especially didnt rust again...if you have any rust just put POR15 over it and it will stiffen up the rust almost to it original strength

preparation is everything. i actually use the prep chemicals that por15 sells. the marine clean is the best degreaser i have ever used, and the metal ready gets the surface all ready for the paint. You lay it on thin in two coats and you are good to go.
