My car makes this "popping" when I am making a sharp right turn on a declined ramp exiting a parking lot onto a level road. the suspension is articulated to the extremes on the corners. I suspect the load on the steering is very heavy. I'm not sure where the clunk comes from but its in synch with the suspenson moving.
I think a component in the steering system has some slack and it pops as it is loaded.
A second thought might be that the sound is created by something on the strut. THe porblem only occurs for me when the front suspension is loaded doan and compressed.
I also wonder is it's comming form the CV joints. Could the half shafts be incorrectly sized or misaligned?
Like yur dealer, I'm just guessing at this point. I'm not concerned because there are no other symptoms or problems as a result of thsi noise such as wheel alignment, tracking unevenly, looseness in hte steering, any other noises.
