popping rear

i own a 1996 240SX se. every time there is a "moderate" change in the power in the driveline, the rear pops and clicks. it's almost as if the rear rams itself into the frame. i think the subframe bushings may be worn. is this a common problem for s14s? i would like in depth technical information and all help is welcomed. thanks a lot
