Did you replace the 'I' in your Infiniti with a 'y'? Anyway, compression rods, if original, are probably bad. They have been redesigned and its a good Idea to replace them, since they will affect your ride, and your alignment. Its a curved metal rod, aluminum in rwd G's and black steel in AWD models, from the knuckle to the front brace. look behind the front wheel, beneath the car.

I have an 05 coupe I ordered a bushing for the drivers side compression rod yesterday. That should take care of the popping noise, but I also have a creaking noise coming from the upper steering column. Do you have any idea of what that might be?

How much was the bushing? I want to replace mine when I put on my wheels... Is it a hard job to do?

its machine pressed we cant just do it by our own, well you can take off your compression rod and have the shop do the machine compression for you..around 50+ ...what other people opinion said was the compression rod we had right now was a bad design , they re-design it i guess around 05 models, but new cost 370+ each...well for me i leave it like that until its needs to be really to swap out with new one, i hope the price of new compression rod on that time is low already,,,lol good luck
