popping at 4-5k

so i can try and race the car, when i hit around 4-5k its starts to cut and and make a popping sound and jerks its set at stock psi but it still rises to 9psi when this happens, i have the sr turbo but also have the sr maf and the maf reads 4.23-4.5 volts when this happens. i was reading a post from awhile ago and dee said that it could be a auto ecu. im not 100% sure on transmission cause i fried my old one and got a new one, but with the old ecu it did the same thing jsut at higher rpms and that was a maunaul for sure. i cant remember the number on the new one right off hand. i was wondering could it be a boost cut? seeing i do have my boost controller set to stock boost and its rising to 9psi could it trying to cut it back at the higher rpms, but also when i set the boost to 10psi i guess it does the same. my fuel isnt running lean either. any ideas?

It sounds like you are having a boost leak, inspect all your hoses, clamps and pipes to make sure there is no leaks, holes, or loose clamps.

If you are getting ECU Errors it could be boost cut. SR20DETs are more likely to exhibit this problem.

Download the manual, and run through some of the ECU self-diagnosis steps.
