Poping out a dent on my side door

I have a minor dent across my side door. Can I take out the inner panel and use my hands to push it out? In order to get access to the dent from inside I have to remove this plastic covering inside my door panel. What is that plastic cover inside the door panel for? Is it to cover my window motor and keep it dry? Can I remove it completly?

yea...you can remove it...i took it off mine...i think it helps water out of the car...water can easily get inside the door, you should be able to put that plastic stuff back on afterwards, if u don't rip it

you will need either a ball-peen hammer, or do like im doing / i did, and get a block of wood.. like. 2x4x8, and then hammer that... so its not direct metal on metal contact.
