pop up headlight is not working....need help!!!!

i saw a video on youtube on how to make your own sleepy eye switch. i did the same thing to my 240. i try to make a switch thru the H/L relay in the fuse box by the battier, after a few second it seems to work then the headlight motor stop working. i put everything back to their original position, but the headlight not moving at all. then i remember a long time ago i cut the brown wire on the pop-up switch. i hook the brown wire back together, but still the headlight is still not moving at all. if anybody can help, i would appreciated.
