Pop Charger Whistle

Just installed a JWT ztube and pop charger. I was bummed that there were no instructions as to how to install the combo, I actually had to go to another site to get the directions. Now and only when I give the car gas I get a high pitched whistle. It doesn't happen when it's idling just when giving it gas. It almost sounds like a linkage or a gate opening or an injector noise. I did not think it was a vaccum leak do to the quiet idling. Any body have this happen or heard of it?

No worries. It is a common sound. I had it when I had a pop charger.

I did search this site and this could have been buried in there somewhere but it did not come up right away. I used the link below that had pics. I was more suprised that JWT themselves would not give them to you for a $225.00 order, a little shabby. Now back to the noise, what is it?

Honestly, I'm not sure what it is. It happens with about 95% of all aftermarket intakes.

The whistle is the air being pulled through the filter .

I had 20k on my filter so I just cleaned it . The whistle is way louder now and more pronounced . FYI clean the MAF sensor with elec contact cleaner a few days after spraying your filter .. the sensor HATES the oil

Totally normal... it's a mini turbo! lol
