I have had my 2008 altima for about 6 months now. I just got rid of the xm radio because i do not spend alot of time in my car. I turned on the AM radio for the first time and was not able to get a single station. I live 15 minutes from Milwaukee, Wisconsin so i should be able to get at least 20 AM stations.

I then tried the FM tuner. I was only able to get 2 FM stations. I should be able to get at least 30 FM stations in Milwaukee. My old car got everything and my friend who has a similar Nissan altima gets every AM and FM station there is. I have the technology package with the NAV and my friend does too.

Has anyone else experienced this poor radio reception with the stock technology package? Any help/suggestions is appreciated.

Thanks

I have not had the same issue with my car ... Maybe your antenna became disconnected on one of the ends?

I had the same problem - there is an amplifier for the antenna grid in the rear window - mine failed and had to be replaced

Its located in the passenger side rear pillar

My radio reception seems to be as good as any other car I've ever owned or been in. Have you guys had your windows tinted by chance? Otherwise the failed antenna amp seems like the most likely problem.
