really nice looking, RWD sedans...

so they get canned for a FWD Volvo based car...

I was hoping I'd never see Lincoln go to FWD...

That sucks, the Lincoln LS was one of the few domestics i liked. Has great styling front and *gasp* the rear looks good too! And it has a nice low stance. FWD Lincoln.. the end is near, I'm still pissed about Volvo being FWD too.

Volvo's arent that bad, but still the LS was a NICE ride! I sat in one at the auto show and I was really impressed... Surprised to see ford go FWD, especially in lincoln, they dont have any FWD lincolns within 10 years, do they?

That freaking blows! I love the LS. Beautiful car all around. ...just...why RWD? Why not axe it for a different looking RWD, or...keep it...?

I don't understand. Everyone else is going back to RWD because everyone realized FWD sucks...so what does Ford do? Typical ford. I stand by my firm belief that aside from a select few standout models, Ford officially died at the end of 1970.

Mercedes Benz already has that covered. They come with sagging doors right off the lot!

This is sad, but what the hell does Ford expect when they fail to properly market the LS? Lincoln is being Mercurized.

Resale values on the LS are dipping rapidly. Hmmm... hmmm...

Farewell, Lincoln LS. Hello, Lincoln Impala/Monte Carlo. I doubt I'll ever understand the auto industry's perverted lust for ruining great cars/nameplates by reincarnating them into some crapbox FWD. I'd give it about 10 more years before we see an FF Corvette.

BTW... how fast are the LS's?

EDIT: They do high 14s low 15s, so not much different than a stock Q45...

First car in the world with THX sound. There was a time when Lincoln was part of PAG, but theyve since crawled back into Detroit where they'll add chrome and navigation to Fords.

Good question. It's a 3.9L DOHC 32V V8. I haven't read anywhere that it's not a Ford manufactured motor. They also use 3.9L in the Aviator. but the Explorer/Moutaineer uses the old 4.6L SOHC V-8 yet shares the same platform as the Aviator.

The last Aviator rolled off the line here a while ago. The new one is supposed to be a funky Infiniti FX type of thing.

I actually liked the Lincoln Aviator. With all the discounts and incentives piled on top, its basically a Ford Explorer with a kickass interior and all the goodies.

The LS in V6 form even came nicely equipped, interior well finished(very European) and the car returned pretty good mileage. I had one for a rental some years ago. I enjoyed it. The idiots at Ford marketing did a really poor job marketing the car. They where supposed to market it to 30 somethings, but instead the only people I saw in them where 60 and 70 somethings.
