poor gas mileage

Hi:

I'm new here and need some advices.

My 2002 Maxima GLE is getting 15 mile/gallon on highway/city. What can I fix to get a better mileage? I'm using 89 gas.

Check the air filter. When's the last time the fuel filter was changed? Have you ever done a fuel injection service? I would start with these things and see where you stand from there. Other than that, keep it light on that skinny pedal on the right.

My 97Q gets better mileage than your newer Maxima.

Do as what Kenny said. In addition, have a free OBD scan from Autozone and the likes for trouble codes. Make sure the SES is operational - turns ON with Ignition ON, engine off but goes OFF with engine running. Clean the MAF sensor (CRC MAF Sensor Cleaner @ $8 from Autozone). Add a bottle or two of Redline SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner (@ $8 each) in a full tank of gas.
