I've owned lots of cars in my 40 years of driving, and I change my own oil. I have never seen a worse design on a car for accessing the oil drain plug and filter! 22 bolts to remove the plastic shield? Give me a break. Nissan should take some lessons from Acura and Honda, the easiest cars I've had for self-servicing. It may actually prompt me to sell the car sooner than expected.

22 Bolts for the entire shield? Does sound high ... but, more importantly ... (I have not looked at the new models), doesn't your car have the little plastic flap in the shield that allows you to reach in for the oil filter and drain plug? It takes only 2 screws for that flap to be lowered for this purpose ...
