I guess trying to sell a Senate seat is not like selling a G :nono:

He is in worse deep (bleep) than Anthony Weiner

"Mr. Blagojevich, who campaigned for governor on a reform agenda after a corruption scandal undid his Republican predecessor, George Ryan, who remains in federal prison. "

"The stakes of this retrial were apparent. Patrick J. Fitzgerald, the United States attorney for the Northern District of Illinois (who may be better known nationally as having pursued the C.I.A. leak case against I. Lewis Libby Jr., the former chief of staff for Vice President d!ck Cheney) personally listened to parts of the trial ........."

Perhaps he will end up in the same cell as George Ryan. I wonder who will become ......... :chuckle:

A Republican then doing what they do best to a Democrat

...more apologist whimpering?

At least Weinerdude admitted he did something stupid - Bloggo is far too arrogant to see his behavior as inappropriate.

Maybe this sends a message to politicians finally? (I mean do you think he was/is the only politician playing this type of game)

Not at all. Politicians and their huge egos will never get it in this country. They will always believe either they aren't doing anything wrong or they won't get caught.

Chicago/Illinois politics at its finest. The last good governor we had was Jim Thompson.

Don't limit it to politicians. Plenty of people with wealth, fame, power and/or influence think that the rules don't apply equally to them.

But most of them don't suckle the public boob while practicing their trade, nor do they rape the public trust. See the difference now?

Actually a lot of them (maybe most?) do. They're buying votes through intense lobbying, gifts and campaign contributions resulting in tax breaks, subsidies, huge tax loopholes and stifling competition.

Now Illinois has the honor of having two Governors as convicted felon.

Howie, might I suggest to you that you need to hold all politicians in a state of contempt, stop perpetuating this cheerleading politics for one political group and look to your ‘heroes’ elsewhere? Government and politicians arent going to solve your problems, they are only going to create more problems to keep themselves in business.

If any of you did follow the case what was your opinion on the outcome? I'm still surprised they convicted him on the majority of the accounts. I thought he was going to walk with 2 or 3 counts at most.

Corporations suckle the left boob, deadbeats suckle the right, and they slap each other the whole time they're eating.
