I can't believe were still talking about this but since we are, should there be clear rules established for congress regarding non office related ethics?

From a statistician's and a sociologist's POV, I'd bet it's a little of both, but more weighted towards the arrogant, entitlement position of someone like the disgraced head of the IMF.

Don't cry for the Congressman. He gets a million dollar pension from the taxpayers and he's already been offered a job for 20% more money in the Internet division at Hustler Magazine, probably as a political commentator.

I have zero sympathy for Weiner, but the Dems shouldn't have called for his resignation because it makes them look weak. The GOP doesn't do this, they let the other side raise the ruckus.

But yeah, Weiner is a shxthead. How does a guy named Weiner let himself get ruined via photos of his weiner? How do you go out like that? What a fathead.

What a pair of useless morons. I'm sure their parents are proud.

Amazes me how the lefties swoon over these two retards.

It's actually kinda hypocritical... The left will blabber and spew about how important it is to "be a good person", and how unimportant status and income is... Yet these two chuckleheads are out banging whores, cheating on their wives, and they get a free pass because they're lefty politicians. Hmmmm.

You mean righty politicians as in David Vitter and Newt Gingrich, and John Ensign. Lets not leave out Larry Craig

I think you're misdirecting your fickle finger of fate (hypocricy) at lefty's, It's not so much the lefties swooning over these two retards. It's the news networks, who first could not contain themselves to exploit these politicians' personal stupidity for ratings fodder, and are the same companies hiring these idiots as paid commentators to exploit their "newsworthiness" for ratings. And this is not an exclusive trait for liberals, Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum are all paid Fox commentators.

And as far as spewing about being a good person, that also crosses both party lines. For example, while Newt Gingrich was preaching family values and pounding Bill Clinton for issues surrounding hummers with a plump intern, Newt was banging a campaign worker, even handed his wife divorce papers while she was in the recovery room from cancer surgery. Chuckleheadism is a trait found in all politicians, not just lefties.

My point was this: I don't defend ANY of them. If you had read my longer post above, you'd see that I think they should ALL be held to a higher standard. If I were GOP, I might toe the party line - I don't.

I have little to no respect for anyone who defends the shenanigans of these overpaid a$$.

Looks like the Weiner has been over"Turner"ed ... :)

In a heavy Democratic party district, a Republican politician wins the marble.

Weiner wasn't in the race, but there were a number of factors that made this race special.

First, the election was the result of a Democratic sex scandal.
Second, the Jews. That's the most heavily Jewish district in the entire country. In July, Ed Koch threw his weight behind Turner as a protest to President Obama's policy on Israel.
Third, Weprin's a bore. He was a hard candidate to get excited about.
Fourth, all signs point to this being the last election for that district. New York is losing two seats, and this is going to be one of them.

Might even be a few other reasons.
