So I need some help I have a 2003 Pathfinder 3.5 with 102,000 miles. My wife started experiencing poor acceleration and she would push the gas pedal to the floor and the truck would not accelerate after a while the service engine light came on. So I purchased a Haynes manual and an OBD tool from Pep Boys the trbl code p0011 and p0021 bank 1 and 2 came up checked it out and it turns out to be the camshaft sensor. So I order the parts and replace both sensors clear the memory and off I go for a test drive after about ten miles or so the poor acceleration comes back and about 20 miles in the check engine light pops back on. I have cleared the memory several time and I am still experiencing the same problem; I have read some similar posts and I hear people talking about a possible bad solonoid and others claiming this could be poor oil pressure they suggest switching to 10w40. First I am going to try the different weight oil then the solonoid. Where is the solonoid? Does any one out there have any other suggestions please help money is tight on one salary and fraternal twins. I would like to fix this myself if it is possible. Thanks!

Is the Haynes manual not rather vague for you? If I recall correctly, it is based around a VG33E Xterra. I think the factory service manual would be much more accurate.

See page EC-178 for instructions to test resistance of the intake valve timing control solenoid valve to rule that out.

Are P0011 and P0021 the only codes you get?

No once I got p0340, p0345 once
. Just checked my oil level and it is low so I am hoping an oil change will help.

How low is the oil? If it's below the bottom mark on the dipstick, top it up at least above that level before driving. A really
low oil level could impact the cam advance (It's powered by oil pressure). But if the oil level got that low, you may well
have other problems.

Towncivilian is right: there's no substitute for the FSM. Haynes will have some tricks sometimes, but the FSM is the real word.
It's, what, 5000 pages, written by Nissan, specific to your year Pathfinder. Haynes is maybe 500-600 pages, covers several years of Pathfinder, Frontier, and Xterra, including some stuff never offered in PF.

Today's FSMs are VERY VERY good. Now, there was a time when you needed both the FSM and the Haynes. That was the case with my '72 240Z. The FSMs have gotten better and better, Haynes has at best tread water.
