poor acceleration

I don't know if this has been posted before, but I'm honestly getting tired of searching...

I have a 1990 N/A 5-speed with 104,000 miles with no mods. However, I just installed a k&n style intake, and now there is poor acceleration. It happens in all 5 gears and it seems like the throttle just isn't opening all the way or that it is very unresponsive. The filter is visible through the opening in the front of the bumper, so I was thinking it was maybe because the filter is experiencing turbulence, but I'm not getting the stalling that many people were reporting.

Does anyone have any ideas?

nvm, I had a stupid moment. I just reseated the filter so it is on top of the "splash guard" in the intake area and reset the maf. No more issues
