Poor acceleration?

A year ago, ,my wife complained that the car could not get out of its' shadow. It had 100000 miles and I decided to change the timing belt. It did not help. Last week, I had to do the water pump, and while there confirmed timing belt by counting teeth. All is well. Yet, the car has slow acceleration from a dead stop. If you are running along at say 40 mph and mash the pedal into "kickdown" mode she takes right off. But not from a dead stop. It seams to want to think about it.Any ideas?

Sure sounds like the Knock sensor is bad.Pull the codes and report back.Knock Sensor wont light the Check engine light.And is ignored over 3K RPM I believe.How to pull the codes is a sticky on this forum.

Did you change the knock sensor? Did it fix the issue? I did a diagnostic at Oreillys on my J and it pulled up the knock sensor P0325. I checked at a shop and they quoted a 7 1/2 hour job. Oh boy. I have'nt noticed any problems, but the check eng light is on. I am tempted to change all the sensors, tired of chasing shadows. Lance

The labor to replace the knock sensor in its original position is a BEAST !!Many that have done it swear they will never do it again.
