I've read on other threads that people have problems with the LCA cracking after installation of polyurethane tension rod bushings. I would like to know if this is a problem for drifters only or if it occurs under normal driving conditions as well. I don't drift myself and am only replacing the bushings since the stock ones are worn and cracked. I figured it would be better than buying completely new tension rods since I haven't been able to find the stock bushings by themselves. However, if my LCAs are going to crack and need replacing anyway, I may as well look for an option other than the polyurethane bushings. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are worried about the LCAs cracking, you can get stock tension rod bushing replacements, however I am not sure about the price on those and they also run the risk of dry rotting and cracking again.

But I haven't really heard of too many people with cracked LCAs from poly bushings, I think you would still be safe installing those.

if you go with the stiffer bushings it will ride a bit ruogher since they dont absorb road shock as well. I believe there are softer compound rubber ones that still hold most of the ride quality. You wont have to worry about the liquid filled ones leaking again.

They [LFB] only fail every 60-75,000 miles or so [assumming you follow the correct installation proceedure]. If only all the other bushings lasted that long.

I had the bushings installed today and they work fantastically... the ride is just a tad rougher, but I'm pleased with the way the car handles.
