Hey Guys,

i am in the process of installing the energy suspension pineapple bushings and differential bushings in my car. A few questions came up that I wanted to get you guys' input on though.

1) I got the old bushings out and on the front two pineapples i removed the metal rings like the instructions said, but the rear two pineapples also have a big metal ring in the bushing hole. The instructions don't say anything about removing it, so i was wondering if I just leave that in there? Before i spend a while cleaning all the old rubber off i figured i should ask

Here is the pic of the rear pineapple hole:

2) The other question i have is regarding the rear diff bushings. The subframe part of the poly bushes is fine, but the instructions say to reuse the stock inner sleeve and that really doesn't sit very tight in the polyurethane at all. Is it supposed to be a semi-loose fit? I can push them back and forth in the bushing.. Here's how the look like installed (correctly, or so i think)

3) The last question is regarding these rubber blocks that according to the BOM on parts websites is only for manual transmission cars. What are these for and should i reinstall them?

thanks for input!Marko

yoru supposed to remove all 4 of the metal rings after you have melted the bushing out, and DON'T BEND OR DAMAGE THE METAL TABS!!!

2) On mine the little metal cups also slide along the urethane like yours. I don't see any problem with that, because the movement of the pumpkin at these points is twisting, not front-to-back. Front-to-back movement is taken care of by the 2 front diff bolts

Regarding the urethane ring itself, the bigger thicker lip points toward the rear

3) those 2 rubber blocks are for vibration damping. I have no idea how they work. Just leave them in, you don't save much weight anyway

the 4 metal rings you remove are from the front set of pineapples. the metal tabs are fine on my car.. one had broken off though on the car already. I'm sure ill be fine.

the rear ones stay in place i believe. i polished out the rubber from the rear ones and the pineapples fit in them just fine, so don't remove the rear outer sleeves!! if you do, you need to get yourself a new subframe because the pineapples will be loose in them.

thanks for confirming that the diff cups are the same on yours, i will let that rest now.

by the way, for anyone who has installed the polyurethane pinapples, did your kit come with polyurethane grease or are you not supposed to grease the pineapples? The instructions do say to grease all parts that come in contact with poly but the box didn't have grease in it.

cheersMarko
