For me, I can't stand the size of the tips on most exhuasts. (N1, Nur-Spec, Hyper etc.) The only exhuasts I could see myself getting are...

Blitz Realize TT - 76.5mm (under 95 decibels too!)

5Zigen Border III - 60 or 70mm

RS*R ExMag (not the GTII) - 80mm

Maybe I'm just a sucker for nice subtle exhausts without the 5 inch tips... :)

I actually bought the hks hi-per because it was the only decibel-legal exhaust i could find. I don't love the way it looks, but it sounds very nice.

Only dB-legal system you could find?

You didn't look very hard. Mind if I ask what you paid for a catback you don't like to look at?

i dont feel much of a power difference on stock KA but i bought it cuz im going turbo soon. is it loud? ive been driving it this evening without the silencer and its too loud for me. i dont think its too loud outside but seems like the cabin amplifies the sound a lot. also i think it is its loudest (in cabin) at around 2500-3500rpm and its not to bad in upper rpms. anyway i tried it with the silencer and it made a very noticable difference and i will be using the silencer atleast till i go turbo.i could maybe barrow my friends video camera to do a little clip but i would need somebody to host. also there are more pics on my cardoamin site.

Well, the Blitz Realize TT I posted above is db legal in CA (CA Limit = 96db, Realize TT = 95db). Not sure what the limit is elsewhere, but I figured: If it's legal in Cali, it's probably legal everywhere else...

...oh, and did I mention that the Realize TT also looks delicious? :D

The spec D is the one he's got.

http://www.gpsports.co.jp/spec-d.htm

it's a good exhaust. Mine was stolen, but since then I've gotten a 5zigen Pro-Racer. The spec-d was really loud, not resonated but I loved it. The pro-racer has that burnt tip and and is jasma certified. It's actually very quiet. If you've got a turbo, the border III is actually very quiet. But it's not 80mm. The realize tt is a good alternative for someone looking for the 80mm and something that doesn't have the n1 styled canister.

I paid 365 for the hiper brand new, out the door.

I guess I should have been clearer in my statement. It was the cheapest "db legal" exhaust I could find that had aggressive piping. Maybe there are a bunch of db legal exhausts out there now, but I don't know where they all were when I was looking.... Unless most of them are db-legal and only hks advertises theirs as so.

if you arent going to go turbo, then keep stock diamiter sized piping or you will lose low end torque and power
