PHANTOM WHITE - Paint Code: QX1

(In addtion to Phantom White... this same color (QX1) is also applied to several different model cars in Nissans line-up including the Cube, Pathfinder, Murano, Infiniti G35 & G37, Maxima, and the 350Z. Depending on which car the color is applied to... the paint is is assigned a different name. e.g., Glacier Pearl White, Ivory Pearl White, White Pearl and Pikes Peak White.

Yep! Phantom White / Glacier White... both exactly the same. Both QX1 paint code.

Per your signature you are in California. If you purchased your Rogue in the US, (at least according to Nissan) yours is technically Phantom White.

Sometimes its the dealerships that get the name wrong on the keytag or paperwork. Actually the same colors are used in both the US and Canada but given different names... Here's the breakdown:

Since white doesn't present a deep shine / reflection the way darker colors can... I gave my Phantom White Rogue a little extra punch by adding chrome door handle covers. It think they really set it off! Here are some pics: zerothread?id=427063

I just got a Venom Red one week ago...

When speaking with the dealer over the phone initially I was not interested in the venom red... I don't like red cars...Looking at it in person, though I really really liked it... a very rich and metallic texture that I wouldn't really classify as red, it is clearly closer to Burgundy or Maroon. I guess they went with a cool-sounding name..

Maybe they should have named the color 'Wicked Wine' or 'Burgundy Bold' lol...

Hopefully my insurance quotes don't go up based on the fact that I have a 'red' car....

I agree... its not red in the traditional sense of what you visualize in your mind when thinking of a red car. I had a similar experience when I ordered my Rogue in Phantom White (also know as Glacier White) Both these names imparted images of "pure white" in my mind. Imagine my surprise when the dealer said my car was in and I could pick it up. It just happened to be parked next to a white 2009 Maxima. The Maximas white was called Winter Frost and was the color of white I had envisioned in my mind. (A nice pure bright white) Next to the Maxima my white Rogue looked like it had spent the last 20 year parked in a smoke filled bar. It would have been more accurate to call the color Antique White! (but then that wouldn't sound sexy enough... nor would it help Nissan sell it to he younger audience.)

As it turns out Phantom White / Glacier White has yellow undertones. To see my Rogue all by itself you'd say "Its a white car". But... when parked next to a truly white car... Phantom White looks closer to the color of French Vanilla ice cream. Never-the-less I've grown to love it.

I believe its called Gothem Grey here in the states, which is why you may not see that color as much.
