Ok who likes the way they split up the engine specific parts of nico? I for one like it better when they put it under the category of each car. It was a lot easier for some reason. Especially for the people who dont know what kind of engine is in there car. Plus it seems like it was split up by years in the old one which I liked better.Which way did you like the setup better?

I know we are a creature of habit and reluctant to change. But I think this idea was a good one.

The Motor section was created to help facilitate people (who may own different cars, but the same family of engines) to talk about their engines. Maybe to share some secrets or tips or answer questions. We have people that are solely focused on one section that they may never talk to other types of owners or venture out of their own section.

Also, by having the "engine talk" section in the forum main menu, it puts more focus on the subject matter. NICO is all about performance and this is one way we can emphasize this. To be honest we have a lot of engine sections that are either redundant or not used. Why maintain separate QR25DE sections for the Sentra and Altima sections when both can discuss issues or questions about their engines. For the engine families that differ (example SR20DE) we have split them apart into sub-sections.

hmmm. well I guess I can understand how some of you guys liek the new site better. But can somebody change where it says "Discuss topics related to the ** and ** series engines." to make it say the cars that it came in and the full name of all the engines? I think that was the reason why I liked it better on the old setup. This was like the only place I could go to and know exactly what kind of engine went in which car. Now I actually have to click on each link inside and see if they mentioned what car it came from. I'm interested in all of nissans engines but now all I know is like the first two letters of each series (without searching somewhere else of course).

I don't care I believe it is fine the way it is. If it does change it wouldn't bother me either. Nick

I think the seperate engine sections is good for every reason Bud explained. It also actually makes LESS forums by consolidating some together.

What separate engine section(s)? I don't see them listed anywhere on the NICO menu (on the left) to be able to get to them? How does one get to them?

I'd say some general cleanup needs to be done to make this site more consistently accessible in an organized way!

Personally, I dislike increasing the number of forums ... makes it that much tougher to find information. We have to spend too much time going between forums!

Ah, never mind. I found them finally from the top link. I kinda think that too much separation is occurring ...

I think the seperate engines are good for every reason listed except new users may not even notice them because i completely overlooked them for like 3 days.

they were.

But since the swap/mod activity in those engiens is small and I expect it to stay small, Iasked those be taken out.

The Infiniti forum can handle that traffic fine.

I still think they should replace the "Discuss topics related to the CA series engine" with all of the engines that are in the series as long with the cars that came with them. Its kind of obvious that thats where people would discuss stuff about the engine

For once a good change in something (not talking about nico specifically...just saying most changes made to things that are already working generally cause the opposite effect than what was intended).
