Haha, that makes two of us who just use their tach.Shocker wrote:lol looks like I'm the only lazy bastard who doesn't care about a speedo and uses his Tach. It's only good to 115 anyways.

Did you all just adjust it all the way to the left?lilskyline240 wrote:
i got the same thing. JDM 180km/hr speedo converted to MPH with the pot on the back
The red gear is the stock rb25 gear isn't it?Kansei240sx wrote:I just put a Z32 speed sensor in and used the red gear.
It seemed accurate.
Now i have an RB20 trans though with a KA24DE speed sensor so its almost perfect.
you have to wire up your reverse light switch up to your factory reverse light harnes, it doesnt matter wich reverse light switch wire goes cause its just an on off switch.CDub7 wrote:I know this is an older thread but maybe someone could help me out i have an 89 240 with s2 rb25det i need the reverse lights to work for it to pass inspection any help would be appreciated but my speedo is about half and my rpms are also about half. .can i "calibrate" these myself?
Yes this works for the RB25 transmission. I did this and used a GPS to verify my speed, I also used two different cars to verify the GPS's accuracy and I'd say it was give or take 3mph at most... Anyway, Swap the gears(Using the RB25 VSS' gear on the usdm n/a 300zx VSS, simple, all you need is some snap ring pliers), and youll have to also swap the insert or collar inside the connectors, youll see what im talking about when you get the new connector next to your old one, but its easy and it works. Edit: Forgot to say, Yes this is for s13s, however i imagine as long as you still have an RB25 transmission, itll work for an s14 as well. Can anyone verify or test this on an s14??And i dont know if the year matters for this, but the VSS i used was for a 94 n/a 300zx if i remember correctlyNeejay wrote:The red gear is the stock rb25 gear isn't it?
So you just used a usdm z32 vss and moved the gear to the it? S13 or S14?
