Thought this would be an interesting poll since the Nico community mostly consists of Conservatives/Republicans and most of congress consists of Liberal/Democrats.

My Congressman is Trent Franks of Arizona and he totally reflects the way I feel 98% of the time so my vote is yes, I like my Congressman.

I was a conservative Republican and the local conservative Republican congressman Dave Dreier was a contributing factor to my leaving the Republican Party. I voted for him over the course of many elections and really supported him early in his career, but particularly under the Bush/Cheney administration he became a robot, merely repeating verbatim the script the Party put out that day. It was especially obvious with the lies put out during the Hurricaine Katrina debacle and didn't get any better on any other issues.

He used to be a conservative who could think for himself. Now he's just another Republican stooge on the take spewing whatever lines the party puts in front of him.

Mine is Phil Roe. He's the former mayor of Johnson City, vice-mayor prior to that and befoer that he was a doctor for 30 odd years in Johnson City so he knows the area and his constituents quite well.

As far as I've seen he does a good job and seems to be in the local area more than any congressmen in other areas that I've lived in have been and has even responded in writing (even a form letter is better than no letter at all) when I wrote regarding Net Neutrality and Cap In Trade, among other things.

BusyBadger-

Something in your post drives home a very important point. Over the years gerrymandering has really distorted the districts and many politicians in California no longer represent the areas they were originally elected to represent. As a result, people like Dreier only know that they represent a predominantly Republican voting district but even the city he was originally elected in was taken out of his district as more Democrats moved there.

They don't know their constituency any more on a personal level. Since all these politicians do any more is buy votes with lobbyist money, negatively campaign and protect themselves through gerrymandering, we no longer have representatives who represent us here.

Let me respond with simply f*** NO! My congressman rode the coat tails of his do nothing Grandmother. Everyone in my district was so sentimental of her passing that they elected a do nothing Nation of Islam a** clown.

No, but its unlikely I'd be happy unless I lived in Ron Paul's district.
