Alright, here goes. Since someone had the bad form to bring up politics(I'm not holding it against you, and yes, I did contribute to the thread, which should be burnt, btw,) I'm trying to start controversy poll #2Are you going to see FF2?Because, honestly, we should all band together and boycott it. If the movie doesn't make any money, there's going to be less exploitation of the import culture by corporate america, less attention by the local constablery(which we would all appreciate), and less inflation of parts and cars(once again, something we can all get down with)Who's with me? Let's take a stand for the betterment of our hobby/lifestyle/obession, reason for living, and the one reason why we keep our crappy jobs!!!!!!Are you planning on seeing FF2?

Oh please, give me a break. The thing that angers me, is people that act too cool for the movie. You log onto the internet, and whine about how so many "ricers" popped up because of it, and how it's "ruining" the scene for everyone else. Heres a thought: these movies give so much business to the import scene, it isn't even funny. Alot of businesses and car parts wouldn't be available today if the first movie didn't bring our scene so much publicity. You, sitting at home, can't do a darn thing about this movie, because it WILL make alot of money. The only thing bad about these movies, is how they portray enthusiasts as gangs of race and violence.

Everyone here will see it, I'm almost sure. The entertainment value of the first one was priceless. Seeing cars pull drifts away from cops was amazing, and if you don't think so, then have fun at your knitting class.

I'll see you in the ticket line.

Actually, you won't. I didn't say I wouldn't be seeing it, but they won't be making any money off of my seeing it

Well, I'll do you a favor. I won't see it because I think movies in that genre are boring and lame (cough LOTR cough). So I will passively boycott the movie.

Are you talking about me?

If so, something I think is kinda wrong. The politics I brought up are real, it is something we as a nation and the world could be facing, everyone will be affected, from the ones experiencing it at home and especially the soliders that will be there. World related politics and teen targeted trend movies sure have alot in common:rolleyes. I do not understand why you think my thread should be burned, the war(if happens) can and will affect alot of people's lives in many different ways. FF2 will just encourage more rice.

Trying to include FF2 as a form of politics is kinda childish, this thread is no way controversial, either they see if or don't, and if you didn't like the movie oh well your out 5 bux.

I don't like either option...

You should have a third option that says "I'm going to see it because it seems alright, and it's a movie nontheless."

I'm going to watch it, but i can get in free because i work at the theatre.

I didn't see the first one in the theaters, and I won't go to see the second. I saw the first on DVD after my sister (who was 14) bought it.

Ninja, a lot of parts and businesses sprung up after the movie, but how many were actually quality? How many benefitted the 240 community. Saying it was a boom for the import community is rather irrelevant to us. That is really a non-issue, I will still be going on-line and to the same shop that I have for years to buy my parts.

Just so you know "the scene" is STUPID and was ruined before the movie came along. You will not be seeing me in line.

LOTR is the greatest series of novels/movies ever created. #2 is star wars and #3 is star trek (in my opinion - no flaming.)

I even went out and bought the "sting" sword that frodo carries around. I'm a huge LOTR nerd :)

Idk i'll see it eventually even though it has by far the worst cast of actors, the only reason the first one was alright was some of the cars and vinny.

I think that a boycott of a movie is political in it's own right. As for the political commentary, I just don't think this was the forum for it, I take a more bar-like approach in that I at least try not to bring up religion or politics, it's bad form IMO. Yes, it will impact people, and yes, it's somewhat pertinent, but I don't think this was the place for it.On a side note, since the LOTR has been brought up, I am a big fan not only of the books, etc... but also the genre. Has anyone read the WOT(Wheel of Time, not THAT WOT) And props to Apexi b/c yeah, the "scene" was kinda played, but after the movie I've had to deal with minivans with huge tips, something no one in their right mind ever did

You're right. Part's developed for our 240's by A'PEXi, Greddy, Veilside, and AEM due to demand from the movie are all crap.

Actually all the companies you stated had products available long before the movie. Production always increases with demand, yes, but that by no means determines their availabilty.

Those parts "developed" have been around for years...what is your point? That more people order stuff and crap is on backorder in a lot of places? Great availability:rolleyes . I just had to wait a week for backordered parts, and have done so in the past, yet when I ordered parts for my old Z they arrived promptly.

Someone put another notch on Ninja's stick for another backwards post...

I agree a "boycott" is stupid, it won't make any kind of difference, I'm simply not gonna see it because I don't want to.

Because, "It doesn't matter whether you win by an inch or a mile..." Hehe

MM86 - Actually, that's disappointing to hear, since that thread has turned into one of the most educational and informative discussions of "non-vehicle-related" issues we've seen in a while (our temporary abuse of FrEaK notwithstanding). Check it out.

Talking about things and considering all other viewpoints (regardless of how you feel about them) builds character. :D

APEXi240: Are you kidding me? Honestly, are you that dense? You're saying that absolutely no new products for the 240sx were developed due to demand since the year 2001. Wow. Take a course in marketing, or at least take a Grade 10 Math course, because you certainly need it. It sounds like you have no general concept of how the business world works, and I don't have the patience to explain it to someone with the IQ of a 3 year old.

What new products have the companies you said made in reaction to the FF movie? Does Veilside make a Fast and Furious spec kit for the 240 now?

And no where in my posts did I say that there were "absolutly no new products for the 240 developed due to demand since 2001". There are also many other circumstances that increase demand, not just some movie. The import industry has been growing exponentially in the past years, regardless of movies.

DO YOU know any aspects of economics? If so you'd know there are DOZENS of factors that go into sales, not just publicity.

The biggest result from f&f and the rice mags I have noticed on the 240 is the sky rocket price on the engines :(

Being miserable builds character too.I appreciate the post for what it is, and I appreciate everyone's view point(you're entitled to it, that's what great about this country) and I was surprised at the level of thought put into a lot of the responses, I just have the tendency to get overtly passionate about politics/religion(to some it's one in the same) and feel that I'm usually greater than 50% right on anything I commit myself to so I when people don't see things my way I chalk it up to ignorance, often failing to consider their own personal experiences and upbringing. I'm not perfect, but I'm working on it. It's typically a convention of etiquette not to bring up politics or religion in a public forum that's all.
