had a buddy ask me how to polish basic aluminum parts..so to teach him i polished my upper and lower timing chain covers..they came out damn good..all thou the upper one was easyer...for some reason he had it in his mind that it takes big equipment to polish...i showed him thats all in the scratches...

polishing is a series of scratching..from 400 grit then to the polishing compounds...with basic tools anyone can polish..i used a $20 dremel tool..a corded drill..and sand paper with a couple raggs...this will make my build really sweet looking..im planning on polishing the intake manny allso..ill be posting pics later tonight on my myspace page under polishing folder in pics..tell me what ya think.

aluminum for what..the motor mounts?.or the dash?..the dash is allso aluminum...the motor mount metal is from a aluminum pole i saw..um..by um the side of the road..with a sort of freeway sighn attached to it..there was um..2 pieces of that pole at the top that i dint think the state would mind me borrowing ( i payed for it anyways with my taxes)..ps..the unknown freeway pole is still standing in its place dont ask..lol..the rest is explaind in the photos.

just a dremel tool..400 grit sand paper....felt polishing weels..a corded drill and a large buffing weel for that..and get some polishing compounds from harbor frieght...

only thing to remeber is that polishing is a series of scratches..medium to small..small to fine..fine to polish..it will take time but its gratifying to see the results.
