does anybody know the best way to polilsh-DIY.I want to do it myself and I have a belt sander and I also have a dremel tool.I imagine starting off with low grit and then all the way up to high grit and then mother's polish but a compressor housing(t04e) has some tight grooves on it that would be hard to do with belt sander.I do not want to pay the extra money to have it polished.I like doing stuff myself if its possible

Do you mean polish the outside of it??You can see what mine looks like here:

That's just going over it with a wire brush on a drill. I plan on going over it with abrasive buffs on the dremel. I actually used abrasive buffs for my head work. It comes out something like this:(The entire process can be found here

It would take you years to polish large pipes/valve covers with a dremel. By a baldor wheel and you can polish to your hearts content. Just remember to where some junk clothes. Your gonna have crap all over you.

i mentioned the dremel tool since there are nook and crannies which are hard to get with any other tool. The dremel would be used only in this area but im not a professional so any help is appreciated.

I was watching the truck channel, and they were polishing valve covers with for a V8. It looked pretty damn good at the end. They used something like this: http://www.swmetal.com/lgImages/lautomotivekit.jpg

but it was a lot more complete.
