Someone showed me pics of his SE alloys before and after and it was a definitely a difference. He used some aircraft stripper and then he used some wadding polish. My question is what about rust? Or if I use some wadding polish can I use a clear coat on top of it? I dont have any experiece with wadding polish...

I have shiny SE 7-spoke alloys and although I don't have a pic, you can restore its shininess by using Eagle One A2Z Wheel Cleaner. Careful, it's really strong basic stuff and shouldn't come into contact with paint or painted wheels. Then, I used Klasse All-In-One Cleaner and put a coating of Klasse Sealant Glaze to protect it. brake dust now comes off easily during a routine wash. Klasse is a german imported product- it's acrylic based protection and not wax. The A2Z is widely available, and only needs to be used on wheels once or twice a year, max.

Just a thought: my buddy works in the detailing dept. at a local truck wash. Those guys really seem to know their stuff when it comes to cleaning/restoring/etc different metals. You might want to give a local one a call, ask for suggestions/price quote.

I'm not sure if the SE's are clear-coated, but if they are and you scuff it up, you may as well keep on going, and get it all off. I'm not a wheel expert, but I think you'll need to re-apply something to keep them from corroding/oxidizine so quickly, otherwise you'll be polishing them every other day. I accidently did this to my mom's Old's Cutlass by accident with a green 3M pad: they looked crappy afterwards, untill I took the rest of the coating off.

What Ive done so far is use Aircraft Stripper and just stripped the coating off of 2 of them. The end result is that they came out with an almost chrome look. If the sun hits them, it blinds you, lol. I only did a rush job because I was just testing it out. Im gonna do a detailed job on all 4 when I get a chance and use some Duplicolor Clear coat on them.

Once again, I'll let you all know how it turns out and holds up.
