does anyone know if there is a product that strips the clear coat off the rims, cause i want to ploish them. someone told me that oven cleaner will work but i dont know about that

get some 3M aircraft stripper from any local auto parts store

That product and other similar ones like the mother's power ball are for actually performing the polishing. He was asking for a product that removes the existing finish on the stock wheels. The aircraft stripper will remove both the clear coat and the paint. Just remove your wheels and let a little stripper sit on the surface. Give it a couple rub downs and then rinse off. May have to repeat but that is some strong stuff so it should be pretty easy.

I used Easy Off (heavy duty) oven cleaner to strip the paint off my motorcycle rims. It worked great. Definitely take the rims off your car and do it far away from your AC. Don't do it when it's windy. You don't want it getting on your car's paint.
