Thanks a lot guys : )

I started with a nasty methyl chloride paint stripper. Then I took a wire brush and removed all of the old paint. I was going to sand next, but I decided to try some rubbing compound. I coated the valve cover with the rubbing compound and used a buffer attachment with my dremel. Yeah, that took a while. I wasn't satisfied yet, so I started to sand it. Used 280, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1500, 2000. Maybe a little overkill, but oh well. Then I cleaned and washed it with a brillo pad. Dryed it and cleaned it with an air compressor. Then I used Meguiars all metal polish. Air compressor again. The end.

Thanks again.
