If you're in this circumstance you should proceed as if you're going to court. Most of us on here aren't, shall we say "properly equipped", to talk our way out of a citation.PapaSmurf2k3 wrote:I've "discussed" things with officers before - all prior to them writing the ticket. Once the ticket is written, you might as well shut up and get it over with.

Unsurprising. I grew up a few towns over from OP in the same county though closer to Manhattan . I loved growing up there. Being so densely populated and so close to NYC , everything is gonna be more expensive there.AZhitman wrote:Then again, you;d have to pay me 5x that much to get me to even consider living there.
Looks like I figured out where I'm going for lunch. Thanks, Jesda!Jesda wrote:

But I'm definitely driving.
Ah, too soon. I looked back to page one. He went, plead not guilty, came again, turned down the plea bargain, rescheduled for tomorrow, May 26. I do hope he posts back, even if the results weren't to his satisfaction.AZhitman wrote:It's worth noting that the OP hasn't been back to gloat in his victory.
Praise in public, reprimand in private does make sense on a small scale, such as at the level of personnel. Authority with accountability seems like it would be nice as well. From a public perspective it can seem like all we have is a double standard when it comes to rules and enforcement and that doesn't promote respect for the laws or the authority. Agencies could take responsibility for the actions of their respective personnel in the eyes of the public a bit more often in my opinion. (sorry if this is too tangential)AZhitman wrote:I'm also 99% certain the PD will sanction the officer - in private. Agencies don't give citizens the satisfaction of knowing the outcome of their internal investigations (nor should they). I deal with this daily - Personnel actions are confidential.
From the Youtube comments he posted another comment a day ago.AZhitman wrote:It's worth noting that the OP hasn't been back to gloat in his victory.
I skipped ahead and didnt see any footage of the sandwich he's supposed to bring me.
