I feel stock boost should be 10 psi and not 7psi. But you're right

yeah most SRs with the stock t25 and stock boost seem to have boost drop off around there. my setup is exactly the same.

not saying its a bother.i know that its cuz of the small turbo and low boost. just saying that would the car be quicker shifting at around 6k or 6.5k.

It has alot to do with the stock camshafts as well.

it may feel faster but unless you have some head upgrades it aint. your shifting after your car has exceeded its powerband. all thats good for is barking the tires and drawing attention to yourself on the street unless your drifting. I laugh at people who think that getting in to the redline is the fastest way to drive.

I think the stock powerband tops out around 6200-6500 I can never remember...you should be shifting in that range or just a hair over it. youll know cause the car doesnt pull as hard and the tach stops climbing as fast.

The stock setup up falls off around 6500 I proved it at the track. I ran much faster times by ****ing early. This is mostly do to the T25 and the stock Cams. Upgraded cams help a lot in top end and bigger turbo doesnt fall off like the T25.

i shift at 7000, there isn't too much pull after that. Reving to 7500 is a bit pointless as the tiny t25 drops off. But wutever makes u feel better. If u wanna know for sure, go to a dyno and see where it drops off. But 6000rpm is a bit early.

if you shift too soon, the next gear you hit will no be in the powerband. gotta find the right mix of not shifting too soon and not too late either.

So I'm guessing your joking....

Uhhhhh so when exactly does the T25 make full boost on the SR? I don't own one currently so I'm not sure myself but I'm sure its around 2500-2800? If you shifted when the wastegate opens youd be shifting at the time the turbo makes full boost lol

pretty sure he's talking about the decline in boost that will happen at high rpm. or at least I think he is

Study your Dyno sheet and see where your max torque is, rev past that to the point that when you shift you end up right before that (enough before that to give the turbo time to spool), then your turbo will spool up at its most efficient so when the next gear catches you will get the most out of the thing that makes you go... Torque.HP keeps you at your speed TQ gets you up to speed

From what I noticed that the stock powerband on an sr20 is more like 7300 to 7500 6200 is weak sauce

What cams are you running (duration, brand)?
