The code means Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow or large leak). It shouldn't effect performance at all. Check your gas cap first to see if it is on properly. I've had this problem for a few months, it comes back on every few weeks so I just erase the code.

I have had this code for almost a year now and I have been erasing it everytime it comes up. I went to my uncles shop he ran a smoke test on it and my leak came from the rear driver side there's a solenoid or something that needs to be replaced mine looked all rusted out I'll try to get a picture for you. I. Didn't get the part so I don't know what it is or what it's called.

Evap canister purge valve, volume control valve, gas cap, solenoid valve all on evap system can cause light to come on. A broken, an open vacuum line, a failed valve assembly or a wrong sequence operation because of seized electric operation
