PO455

I got a PO455 code on my 01 Maxima. Has anybody had this and fixed it?And what was the fix? Thanks for any help.

The typical fix is to remember to put the gas cap on before driving away from the gas station, or buying a factory replacement for the one that was altogether left at the station. Other less common problems are the cap not being fully tightened or the tether being caught under the cap.

I just purchased a new cap from an auto parts store, do you think I shoud go to the dealer and get one?

Yea you should.I have had several Stant caps fail leak down checks. What happen did you leave it off as I had indicated?

No, the cap that was on there was not orig, and was pretty beat-up, so I was trying to do a preventive. I took the cap back and looked up the number myself this time and found out that they gave me the wrong cap.I just cleared the code.We will see if it comes back. Thanks for the info.

No prob. It would take a few days to come back on due to the test perameters of the ECM. BTW I am south of sac and work at the elk grove dealer.
