okay so i definitly think i'm screwed at this point, but i'd really appreciate some help with this. and i would DEFINITLY appreciate not being flamed. i checked on the search button and it didnt really help so i'm asking you guys

i just bought blank 240sx Brembo rotors, stock size, and also along with it I just purchased 26mm alluminum Z32 calipers. my qeustion is will the z32 brake calipers work on the 240sx s13 rotors? and if not, what do i need to make them work? or did i just totally waste my money on the rotors. i need help figuring out what to do and what i need to make them work. i feel dumb by the way.

thanks in advance for any advice or help.

26mm Z32 calipers=26mm Z32 rotors

The diameter is totally different, and the width. Sell your S13 blank rotors and get some Z32 26mm rotors, keep in mind you'll have to someone re-drill them to your 4 lug pattern (unless your'e 5 lug already)

no. i dont have the money to swap to a 5 lug. so i'm keeping it that way, but what do i need to do after getting the z32 rotors? and are there really different kinds of z32 rotors? it kind of just gives broad spectrums on online brake shops. like

1990-96 300zx turbo/na Rotors. - so what the hell?

Nissan changed around the widths/caliper sizes on the Z32 in its running years. Lucky for you you have 26mm and not 30mm (typically on the TT), the 30mm cause more of a wheel-clearance-issue. Although unless you have the pre-93' 7spoke alloys on your s13, you will have to get new wheels or get spacers so they clear the calipers. Because space is very limited.

You will have to either modify the s13's brake-dust shield or remove it, or get one off a junked z32. You need brake lines that have the right adapters so they hook up to the S13's hardline properly. Any machine shop in the phonebook or by word-of-mouth can drill the rotors for you. Other than that everyting else should go fine.

SPL's stainless lines are very nice, i'd go with them, otherwise any of NICO's sponsors will have what you need.

okay so... i don't have the right rotor size. i can't figure out how to find out what size the rotors i'm buying are. i have to buy new wheels for my car if i want the rotors to fit. i have to get the wheels drilled if i want them to fit.

-this isn't going to work is it? should i just put on the stock 240 rotors and get some greenstuff brake pads? i'm starting to REEEAALLY feel like i'm not going to actually be able to do this whole brake upgrade.

Um, when you go to buy z32 rotors, they will say......

if they don't, go buy them somewhere else who knows how to list a product correctly. Z32 N/A brakes are primarily 26mm.

Uh, you don't have to buy new wheels for the rotors to fit. I said the calipers may or may not clear depending on the wheels you have on the S13 right now. Drilling the rotors to 4 lug is a cheap procedure, from what i remember its either 1 or 2 extra holes. Unless you are having some kind of issues with your stock calipers leaking/needing to be rebuilt you don't necessarily have to upgrade to Z32 brakes. You can just get some decent pads and slotted rotors and call it a day, or go with cheaper Q45 calipers/rotors instead. Its up to you. But you need to do some more research on the subject.

Nico's search button is helpful, but so is the 240sx.org FAQ too.

i've searched this before and come up with not much to help. i'm still very confused so i don't know. btw i DO have the pre 93 7 spoke alloys, so i geuss they won't fit. i already HAVE the calipers so i'm not sure what to do. i suppose i could get them drilled easily enough but i'm starting to think this process is going to cause more harm then help. nowadimean?

Did you even read what i wrote? I said, rather, -- insinuated that pre-93 7-spoke alloys will clear the calipers. Not by much, but enough to fit. I would know since i have a 92' S13 with Z32 26mm calipers/rotors and 7-spoke alloys. Geez.

In your case, this is more harm than good. Keep your OE brakes and sell the calipers, you will get good cash for them.

well. what im going to do is this. i'm going to buy steel braided lines and 4 EBC greenstuff brake pads along with new 240sx Brembo rotors. then i'm going to take the z32 calipers that i bought, get all the new parts i need to get them working, paint them shiny black, and sell them back for 150 +shipping. (i paid 80$ for them, they need work but not much) so i'll make a profit hopefully.
