Hey guys, I searched and found you can plug up the egr, but I'm not sure what to plug it with. I can get the valve out ok since I had to take it out and adjust it for my header install.

Secondly, how can I plug it up/modify it so that it doesn't throw a code on my 240 SOHC (I have california model).

Will there be problems with the turbo if I make a bung and plug it into my downpipe?

Thanks

just cap it off, make a blank steel plate that will seal it up, that's all you have to do. It's not worth the hassle of trying to keep it. One of my buddies did it and it didn't throw a code, so i wouldn't be too concerned with it.

Ok, I'll use some blank steel. How did you guys keep it closed? No need to weld or nothing right. Being able to go back to stock/legal will be relatively nice.

If you guys have time to take a couple pictures of what it looks like on your setup, that will help ALOT.

THANKS! :)

Just cut out a square piece of steel, drill two holes in it. Put gasket maker around the mating surface and just screw on the plate(into the bolt holes which held the EGR in place).

Nissan actually makes a part to plug the hole for the egr/aiv(same size). the part number is 14052-21R00.. Just ask the parts guy to order it for you, should be around 12 bucks...

to plug the exhaust hole, you mean? cause you would need a way to close both exhaust and intake. for exhaust you can just beat it over with a hammer. or a plug, or a bolt cut off. or a piece of steel welded on.

Not only do you need to plug up the EGR hole on the intake manifold, but you also have to unplug the egr sensor and stick a 100Kohm resistor in the connector to not throw an engine check light.

this may seem like a stupid post, by why was this thread like 5 from the top when the last post was made by me like 2 months ago?
