To make the story short and sweet:I made a 1.5 inch hole in my downpipe for my dump return. Needless to say, it was done wrong so now i have to re-route my dump return line. How do I seal off that 1.5 inch hole on the downpipe.? Can i buy something from a local auto parts or hardware to seal it. I do have a "wallmart" special welder if welding needs to be involved..

ThanksRobert

i was thinking if its possible to buy a flange that has no hole cut out of it that will fit the flange you have on there. then just bolt the holeless flange on there and you should be good to test to see if the problem continues

do you want a permanent way to plug the hole or just something that can be put back to normal if the problem still occurs when not routing the wastegate gasses back to the downpipe?

Well, according to most of the people i have spoken with claim that the way I routed the dump return is the wrong way. It works in keeping the noise down, but it is creating a restriction in the wastegate flow thus causing boost creep. So i have to cut the dump pipe off the downpipe and have that hole sealed off permanently. Then to re-route the dump pipe, i have to bring the dump farther down the stream ( min of 12 inches away from the turbo ) to prevent any kind of restriction to the wastegate flow and the pipe has to be welded at an angle so that is merges with the turbo's exhaust gas nice and smoothly..So, yes it has to be sealed permanently...
