Front passenger needs replacing.Does it unbolt or have to come out as one unit? Some sites have it as just converter, some have whole assembly.

Pre-cats? If you dont have smog testing @ 15 years or older gut them. Can get 40$ a side for the guts

There are pre-cats that are about the size of a large fist at the end of the exhaust manifolds, followed by two main cats, then two mufflers, then the dual resonator at the back.

I had melted pre-cats on my first Q, discovered shortly after a bleed-down or bad lower o-ring issue on some remanufactured injectors - so it's not totally unheard of.

From the old posts from Q45Tech, the pre-cats come into play mostly to help with cold emissions - so I would suspect that they won't have much of an impact on warm emission tests even in states with testing. This is just a guess though...

What ever that thing near passenger front wheel is has a split in it,yet car is very very quiet while driving.had pipes welded, shop didn't touch that one.Was chasing down source of bogging down going up hills.Car revs freely in park, but under load chuggs.Delaware has the pipe up the pipe check, but don't have to go back for 2 years. From what I came up with, this blockage is causing higher heat loads under hood, even fuel lines are real hot to the touch...Which might explain y my less then a year old pump is audible now.Pressure is holding though.So...I know that part has to come out...What is it exactly?I know aftermarket is frowned on ,but I can get it on Amazon for $50.When I replace it,is there a way to check down stream to make sure nothing else is blocked on either side?Check engine lights not on,had to key on key off couple a times forgot what it looked like....All other mech, electrics work.
